March is the month we celebrate women’s history and today is International Women’s Day!
I encourage you to take a few moments to reflect on how far we have come and honor those women who’ve helped us get there. While we reflect on our past, it’s also a good time to look to the future and pay it forward. It’s our special day to elevate our “E” in EWGA. Consider supporting the EWGA Foundation by donating to the Women On Par Scholarship Fund or supporting LPGA-USGA Girls Golf.
Our organization is celebrating a milestone this year by turning 21. Did you know that EWGA has touched the lives of over 100,000 women since we started? Just this year, we announced the National Women’s Golf Alliance to provide women with an even better golf experience. Together with women collaborating and supporting each other – the volume of our voice increases and more people will take notice and hear our message.
While International Women’s Day was born out of activism in 1910 by a German woman named Clara Zetkin when she proposed that every country devote a day to the needs and political demands of women, for many, this day of celebration has taken on a sentimental status. No matter what your view, it’s a day to reflect, celebrate, and be positive! For a positive attitude is power that can make real things happen.
EWGA enriches women’s lives through the game of golf. That is powerful! Who have you introduced to the game lately? It’s my challenge to you to share with others what has been very meaningful to you. Why not make a commitment to do this today!
