Olin Browne has been seeking a USGA Champion title for nearly 33 years. Yesterday it became a reality. Congratulations Olin!
A year ago, I had the great fortune of being paired with Olin Browne in a Champions Tour Pro-Am in South Florida. The round of golf was fabulous. He was engaging, entertaining and energetic. I loved the entire experience. He was accessible and candid. He spoke about his experiences on Tour, his relationship with Callaway Golf, his role as a Ryder Cup Asst. Captain at Valhalla with Team Captain Paul Azinger and his daughter’s relationship with then PGA Tour rookie, Ricky Fowler.
Needless to say, the 18 holes of golf flew by! The conversation during the round was fascinating. I was so grateful for the experience and for being able to play this great game of golf. Without that ability, so many experiences like this one – wouldn’t have been available to me. Now, I can say I know a U.S. Senior Open Champion!
