
As the first official golfer in chief, President Dwight D. Eisenhower brought golf to the White House lawn and played nearly 800 rounds while in office. Together with Arnold Palmer, their charisma changed how Americans viewed golf and really sparked the nation’s interest in the sport. Arnold Palmer will fete Eisenhower at the Induction.
The other inductees include Christy O’Connor,Ireland’s most famous golf legend now 84 years old; Jose Maria Olazabal, the steely Spaniard and USA’s Lanny Wadkins with 21 PGA TOUR victories.
